Kuuipo

Our puppy is doing marvelously.
We named her Kuuipo. It's Hawaiian for Sweetheart. The two u's are supposed to be pronounced separately, but we seem to sort of combine them so that it comes out sounding like Kweepo.
Our younger dog, Gabby, has been learning how to teach Kuuipo to play, and that's been really fun to watch. At first, Gabby would run clear across the yard and expect the puppy to follow. Now she gets the puppy's attention, then runs a short distance, and then stops and waits for the puppy to catch up. So Kuuipo is definitely getting her exercise! Hero's (the dalmatian) version is play is mostly to "talk" to the puppy and play with head and paws. She's less interested in active play but has been very protective of the puppy. Gabby, though, will lie down and let the puppy climb all over her. It's really been fun to watch!
